A Thousand Years (Christina Perri)

I’m not a fan of Twilight (Sorry!) but I fell in love with this song.

There’s something poignant about it which makes me cry.

The lyrics are so awesome and the melody too! I also liked how Christina Perri sang this.

Heartbeats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love, when I’m afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What’s standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this

One step closer

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

One step closer
One step closer

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

Home – Michael Bublé

I have heard this song twice – once during a wake and once during a wedding. Extremes, huh? Anyway, I loved the melody. I didn’t know the title nor the artist and I was like looking for a needle in a haystack. I was lucky enough to have listened to the lyrics and google-d it! So, here you go…

Michael Bublé’s HOME:

Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm

May be surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh, I miss you, you know

And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
“I’m fine baby, how are you?”
Well I would send them but I know that it’s just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that

Another aeroplane
Another sunny place
I’m lucky, I know
But I wanna go home
Mmmm, I’ve got to go home

Let me go home
I’m just too far from where you are
I wanna come home

And I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life
It’s like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not
Come along with me
‘Cause this was not your dream
But you always believed in me

Another winter day has come
And gone away
In even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go home

And I’m surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
Oh, let me go home
Oh, I miss you, you know

Let me go home
I’ve had my run
Baby, I’m done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will all be all right
I’ll be home tonight
I’m coming back home

I feel that it’s more than coming home to someone who loves you, as they say, home is where you (whoever that is) are. But it’s also coming home to the Father. So kindly take note: I would like to have this both in my wedding (if ever I’ll get married) and my wake and funeral.

The Young Victoria and “Only You”

I have been searching for a DVD of The Young Victoria but my efforts proved futile. I’ve always loved period films and dramas so this film has caught my interest. I’ve seen the trailers and various videos at Youtube to satisfy my curiosity. I found this particular music video created by a fan. What I love about it was the music used.

“Only You” is performed by Sinead O’ Connor. It is the love theme of the said motion picture. The lyrics depict the love between Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The lyrics can be found here. I thought, “what a wonderful love song – the story behind it is moving and beautiful. Who wouldn’t wish for that kind of love?”
